3cd Early, pre-ABB, pre-Govt Mule Warren Haynes: Ripping, wailing, blues rock playing. Fire 🔥. I love Dickey Betts - great American writer, singer, and allstar wailing guitar player. This is a well recorded, often bootlegged show from the FM source. Go Dickey, go Warren, and guests.

about

Dickey Betts maybe not have had the Allman name but he was a co-founder and the ongoing heart and soul of the Allman Brothers Band. With the deaths of Duane and then later on Gregg, Dickey slipped into semi-retirement.

This show was recorded on November 1, 1988 with his back-up band, Great Southern, at the Lone Star Roadhouse in New York City and simulcast on NYC AOR station, WNEW-FM. Dickey Betts and Great Southern riffed on some of the Allmans best known hits: "Blue Sky", "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed", "Jessica", Statesboro Blues", "One Way Out", "Southbound" and other gems. Dickey is backed by Warren Haynes- guitar/vocals, Johnny Neel- keyboard/vocals, Matt Abts- percussion and Marty Privette- bass. Also features special guest appearances by Rick Derringer, Jack Bruce and Mick Taylor with versions of the legendary tracks "Rock & Roll Hoochie Coo" and "Spoonful".

The set is available on limited edition blue colored double vinyl.

A must have for classic rock and Allman Brothers fans.
